2.11: What is ballast putty used for?

Ballast is a counter weight that is added to the airship in order to achieve neutral buoyancy.

Lighter than air zepellins and balloons will rise if the lift provided by the helium exceeds the weight of complete airship. We add weights to the airship until the weight is equal to the lift. When this "neutral buoyancy" is achieved, the airship will neither rise nor fall - it will be suspended in mid-air. The 3 propellers of the Tri-Turbofan apply a thrust to the blimp which can be precisely controlled. Modulations of the R/C controls enables the pilot to maneuver the airship along a desired flight path.
